Medical Acupuncture – Dry Needling

Although the insertion of acupuncture needles has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for many years Western medicine is now beginning to realise the potential physiological benefits. Specifically, Medical Acupuncture has  been shown to stimulate the nervous system, encourage blood flow and release the body’s pain killing hormones. As a result, it can be an ideal complement to sports and remedial treatments in order to treat a range of painful conditions as well as improving the range of motion of joints.

Grant is fully trained in the application of acupuncture needles, furthermore he follows a strict code of conduct regarding hygiene and will of course only use the needles with prior consent and where appropriate. In such case they will typically be inserted nearing the end of a treatment session, allowing for around 10 minutes for the health benefits of the needles to take effect.
